Caramelized Onions


  • 3 large red onions, peeled and cut into wedges
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • salt and ground black pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 170ºC, fan bake.
  2. Mix sliced onion wedges with oil, sugar and vinegar. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Spread out onto a roasting dish. Cook for 45 minutes until tender and lightly golden. Remove and allow to cool.
