  • bamboo skewers
  • lime wedges to serve

  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 tbsp kecap manis (thick, sweet soy sauce)
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic

  1. Make the sauce by placing all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly until thick and glossy.
  2. Set sauce aside but reheat if making ahead of time as butter will solidify on cooling.
  3. To prepare, thread a skewer through each whole prawn.
  4. Heat a little olive oil in a large saute pan or on a BBQ hot plate.
  5. Season the prawns and cook over a high heat until well coated then hold them over a seperate plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
