BEWARE – SERIOUSLY ADDICTIVE! If I had to choose one last sweet thing to eat this would be it. I’m unsure where the recipe originated from, as I have had it for years and was handwritten.
Ingredients
Filling
- 60g butter
- 1/2 tin condensed milk
- 60g brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp golden syrup
Base
- 250g kremelta
- 4 heaped tsp cocoa
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 4 cups cornflakes
- 1 cup coconut threads
Method
- For the base, place all ingredients in a large bowl and add the melted kremalta. Mix well and put half the mixture in a greased baking dish. Press it down firmly.
- For the filling, cook all ingredients in a pot until dissolved (about 3 mins). Pour the filling mixture over the base.
- Scatter the remaining base mixture over the top and place in the fridge until set. Cut into squares and keep in an airtight container in the fridge.
